IAN pours undisclosed amount to IndiaCollegeSearch

Indian Angel Network (IAN) announced its investment in IndiaCollegeSearch. IAN members Anupam Mittal, Vikram Upadhyaya, and Varun Khurana poured money in the startup that is developing an online search engine specifically for Indian educational institutions. IndiaCollegeSearch was founded in 2010 by Anirudh Motwani and Parul Bansal. Angel investors Upadhyaya and Khurana will join the the firm's board as part of the agreement.

A national network of Indian angel investors, IAN has supported more than 50 new companies in various sectors in India and overseas. Their 2012 investments in 17 companies amounted to USD 11 million, up from only 11 companies and more than USD 8 million in 2011. For 2013, some of their other notable projects include Gram Vaani Community Media, Rank Junction, Mobilewalla, and XinLab. Its more than 225 members support firms in the IT, healthcare, and education sectors. The company also formed IAN Impact earlier this month which will fund social enterprises that focus on solving problems of those living in poverty.
