Former HSN CEO Mark Bozek and co-founder Russell Nuce announce the launch of the new e-commerce platform EVINE.com. The site will sell exclusive products available only on EVINE.

EVINE aims to create a shopping platform that's all about unique, value driven merchandise in fashion, beauty, accessories, fitness, food and home for women 35+.

The initial site launching today on https://evine.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/evine is a "coming attractions" platform that invites members to join for free and learn about the exciting new brands that will be available this summer.

EVINE's model is built on the premise of "Shop, Share and Laugh." Unlike most discount designer flash sale and subscription based e-commerce platforms, EVINE will offer exclusive items on a fun and engaging platform, including live selling segments, where members can share with like-minded friends and laugh at shopping centric entertainment created by EVINE and its members.  EVINE will offer entertainment content, including games, which encourage members to visit more often then just when they're in the mood to shop.

Bozek believes, "There's a way to create a profitable e-commerce company where the notion of a fun interactive customer experience is more than a flash sale or a video blog on how to apply eye shadow.  Creating new brands with personalities – some famous, some not – is what EVINE is all about.  Bringing them to life and engaging customers in real time is key to our goal to make shopping online really fun and truly interactive.

"Having worked at both QVC and HSN, I have a good idea of what this customer likes. I know without question that today's customers are spending an ever increasing amount of time online as compared to watching TV."

By creating the right product mix, EVINE's goal is to attract a large and scalable customer base without having to simply pay to acquire customers. Unlike many flash sale and subscription based models that focus foremost on acquiring customers then figuring out later how to monetize them, EVINE will create brands with long-term value and a margin from the start.

In addition to Bozek and Nuce, EVINE's start-up team includes former QVC merchant and current President of the Accessories Council, Karen Giberson, and former QVC superstar host, Kathy Levine. Initial advisors include Thom Beers of Original Productions, Leane Brenes of Brenes Co., Kim Caccavo of Steelpoint Capital, Jim McCann of 1800Flowers, Greg Renker of Guthy Renker, Joan Solotar of the Blackstone Group and Fred Siegel of Fred Siegel Partners.
