The painstaking process of creating something out of Lego blocks has been more than a hobby for some, and despite the many possibilities out there, even the best of them gets stuck on what to do or how to make their imagined creation a reality.

However, that is no longer a problem now as researchers from Carnegie Mellon University have created the new LegoGPT tool, which can help generate and build ideas for users.

LegoGPT Brings Your Ideas To Life

Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University have shared a new study that takes the Lego building experience to the next level, and it uses generative AI to help users create real-world builds. The researchers call this the "LegoGPT," and instead of the usual AI image generators that could create designs which are defying the laws of physics, this new model delivers physically stable ideas.

The team has gone the extra mile of training their latest tool with over 47,000 Lego structures alongside 28,000 3D structures to ensure that the design it will share with users is possible in real life.

Users may input text ideas for LegoGPT to create, but they may also upload photos of their existing build or available blocks. The AI would then give them an idea of how to improve their models or what to start with.

Stable Lego Designs From AI

AI has come a long way, and this new specific model from Carnegie Mellon University prioritizes stable builds 98% of the time, with this figure ensuring that the design would stand.

The tool is now available for users to access via GitHub to try it out, and it is free to access for all.
