Colombia's Vetra Energia is acquired by a joint venture between ACON Investments amd CIPEF

An affiliate of ACON Investments LLC and Capital International Private Equity Fund VI LP announced that they have jointly obtained Vetra Energia SL. Vetra Energia SL is one of the biggest independent oil producers that is privately held in Colombia. ACON is a private equity investment firm heavily invested on the American continent.

The previous owners of Vetra Energia SL include an investment company headquatered in La Coruna, Spain, Inveravante, and several minority stakeholders of the corporation. Under the terms of the agreement, Inveravante and its partners will retain their shares in Monclova Pirineo Gas SA de CV.  Monclova Pirineo Gas SA de CV is a spin-off from Vetra Energia that also operates as an oil services company.

ACON has now invested over US$2.8 billion of capital throughout the American continent and have targeted companies that are at its highest potential for growth. The company pursues these investments in close partnership with experienced management teams.

Capital International Private Equity Fund VI is the sixth private equity fund of Capital International Private Equity Fund, or CIPEF. CIPEF targets its investments in prominent companies across the international emerging markets and has made around 80 investments throughout 25 countries.
