ZoomSystems said it purchased Vigix Inc., including its "no-moving-parts" dispensing technology. This move will enable the top retail firm to offer more options for consumers and improve its position in the global scale.

Jack Lawrence, ZoomSystems CEO, said that they are focused on putting their money in the automated retail industry, which has grown big in recent years. The Vigix technology, he said, will allow them "to operate in thousands of major retail stores on a global basis."

"We're excited to enter new markets and new channels, ultimately helping our current and new brand partners sell more products and improve the consumer experience," he said.

One of the advantages of the Vigix technology is that it requires very little space allowing the retailer to operate in cramp but dense-traffic locations. The technology requires no point-of-sale but is also very secure so the retailer can sell goods at minimal operating costs.

ZoomSystems will integrate the patented kiosks by Vigix in its vast retail network in Europe, North America and Japan.
