Krispy Kreme's unique Solar Eclipse treat creation features an Original Glazed Doughnut dipped in black chocolate icing, topped with silver sprinkles, filled with buttercream infused with Oreo pieces, and finished with a whole Oreo cookie in the center.
The Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut will be available from Friday, Apr. 5, to Monday, Apr. 8, both in-store and for pickup or delivery through Krispy Kreme's app and website while stocks last.
Krispy Kreme's global chief brand officer, Dave Skena, expressed excitement about the release, citing the rarity of eclipses and the uniqueness of their new menu on Apr. 8.
This isn't the first time Krispy Kreme has ventured into space-themed treats. According to USA Today, past occasions include the launch of a chocolate-glazed doughnut for the 2017 solar eclipse and the introducing of the Mars Doughnut to celebrate NASA's Perseverance Rover landing in 2021.
Unlike the limited Total Solar Eclipse Dougnuts, Krispy Kreme's new venture with McDonald's will also be available for a long time, per VCPost.
