Vice President Kamala Harris has unveiled three new federal regulations aimed at promoting transparency and safety in the context of the expanding field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The regulations, which were implemented by the Office of Management and Budget of the White House, aim to enhance transparency and internal supervision while also raising the bar for protecting public safety and rights, as stated by Harris.

Kamala Harris Unveils AI Guidelines for US Agencies

During a press call, the vice president voiced her concerns to the media, emphasizing the importance of protecting the rights of the American people when the federal government implements any form of artificial intelligence.

Vice President Kamala Harris informed reporters prior to the announcement, "When government agencies use AI tools, we will now require them to verify that those tools do not endanger the rights and safety of the American people."

Harris declared an administration regulation mandating that government agencies ensure that their use of AI does not violate anyone's rights or promote racism.

Additionally, she disclosed the directive from the administration that requires federal agencies to disclose the AI systems they employ and how they use it in the course of their operations.

She stated that the federal government would serve as an example for any company or global body applying AI to increase productivity.

Artificial Intelligence in Conflict About Racial Issues

Particularly in healthcare systems, eminent universities have identified AI as problematic for racial issues.
Companies persistently encounter challenges related to racial sensitivities when implementing or using AI, despite their efforts to detect or counteract racially fraught consequences.

In response to user queries, Google's Gemini AI tool produced images of non-white female founding fathers, black female popes, and black and female Asian Nazi soldiers. In light of this, Google issued an apology.

The outcome was derided by Google detractors as the output of "woke" AI.

Elon Musk derided Google's AI system as evidence that the company had encircled itself with "insane racist, anti-civilizational programming."

As an increasing number of businesses seek to implement the use of AI, vice president Harris incorporated the matter into her issue portfolio.
