Federal investigators are reportedly probing into the business dealings of James Biden, the younger brother of President Joe Biden, as part of  a criminal investigation, according to Politico.

This intensified investigation delves into transactions associated with the defunct Americore hospital chain, where James Biden was intricately involved following his brother's tenure as vice president.

Feds Probe James Biden's Transactions in Florida, Pennsylvania

Anonymous sources revealed to Politico that federal investigators in Florida have recently delved into transactions linked to James Biden in an ongoing criminal investigation.

Simultaneously, Justice Department officials have sought information regarding James Biden in connection with a Medicare fraud probe in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania investigation centers on allegations of substantial Medicare reimbursements, believed to be improper, received by one of Americore's hospitals.

Similarly, the Florida probe is focused on efforts led by James Biden and his business partners to secure investments from the Middle East to bolster Americore and other ventures in the United States.

Specifically, investigators are scrutinizing agreements tied to James Biden and loans extended to Americore by an investment fund associated with him.

James Biden Maintains Brother Joe Biden's Lack of Involvement in Business Affairs

Although James Biden testified before Congress last month, acknowledging his role in facilitating some of these loans, a lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County in 2022 suggests potential impropriety in the payments he received.

The lawsuit alleges that $200,000 from the $600,000 "embezzled funds" diverted to James Biden ultimately found its way to President Joe Biden, described by the White House as a loan repayment, according to Politico.

Despite Republicans pushing for an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden because of this, James Biden clarified to the House Oversight Committee that his brother has never been involved in his business affairs.

"I have had a 50-year career in a variety of business ventures. Joe Biden has never had any involvement or any direct or indirect financial interests in those activities, none,"  James Biden said in an opening statement before the House committee in February.

These developments unfold against the backdrop of heightened scrutiny on the Biden family's business dealings, including Hunter Biden's tax affairs. President Biden has repeatedly denied any involvement in his family's business affairs.

Meanwhile, James Biden's attorney, Paul Fishman, has maintained that his client is not under federal investigation in either Florida or Pennsylvania.

However, the Justice Department's South Florida office has declined to comment, while the Western Pennsylvania office has yet to respond to requests for clarification.
