Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has commenced construction on its inaugural integrated manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, India. Per Financial Express, the manufacturer is anticipating the creation of about 3,500 jobs.

The groundbreaking ceremony, graced by dignitaries including M K Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and Dr. T R B Rajaa, Minister for Industries, highlighted the state's commitment to industrial development and sustainable mobility initiatives.

Spread across a 400-acre site within the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial estate, the $500 million investment over five years aims to produce 150,000 electric vehicles annually while fostering local economic growth through job creation and supplier partnerships.
