Disney Invests $1.5 Billion in ‘Fortnite’ Video Game Maker Epic Games

Disney announced on Wednesday that it will invest $1.5 billion in Epic Games, marking its largest venture into the gaming industry to date. 

According to CNBC, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed the substantial investment, emphasizing Disney's strategic move to tap into the lucrative gaming market.

Disney Collaborates With Epic Games

This collaboration between Disney and Epic Games aims to develop new gaming experiences and an expansive entertainment ecosystem. 

Through this partnership, consumers can expect a fusion of Disney's franchises, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, and more, within the gaming universe crafted by Epic Games.

Although the exact valuation of Epic Games following Disney's investment remains undisclosed, the media conglomerate expressed its commitment to leveraging Epic's platform to engage audiences across various mediums, including gaming, streaming, shopping, and content consumption.
