Tiger Woods Ends Partnership With Nike

Tiger Woods announced the news in a statement posted on social media platform X on Monday. He expressed gratitude to Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, the company's employees, and fellow athletes.

"Phil Knight's passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way," Woods said.

The news came after months of speculation about a potential separation between the golf icon and the sportswear giant. Nike confirmed the conclusion of the partnership on Instagram, commemorating the extensive collaboration with a photo of Woods in his iconic red polo and acknowledging the significant journey with the caption, "It was a hell of a run."

Statement of Nike

In a statement, Nike expressed appreciation for the 27-year partnership and described Tiger Woods as one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen. The company highlighted how Woods redefined the sport of golf and "broke barriers for all of sport."

"We watched him set records, challenge conventional thinking, and inspire generations of people around the globe. We are grateful to have been a part of it. We wish him the best in the future," Nike said.

While there is no official information regarding Woods' plans for a future endorsement deal, the golfer hinted at the possibility of another chapter in his career.

On social media, Woods said, "There will certainly be another chapter." Some fans and industry observers speculated that his next partnership will be with the Swiss sportswear company On Running, which tennis legend Roger Federer joined in 2019 after he left Nike.
