Netflix new show, ‘Mako Mermaids’, premieres Friday

Netflix has a new show titled "Mako Mermaids". The Netflix exclusive debuted Friday.

"Mako Mermaids" was a sequel of "H20 - Just Add Water", which has long been running from Australia to 120 countries worldwide. The show's audience was particularly teens.

The show centered around three teen mermaids, who are the guardians of Mako Island. These were Lyla, Nixie, and Sirena. They fail to stop a 16-year-old boy named Zac from falling into the Moon Pool. After falling into the sacred pool, Zac became a merman with new powers. The guardians task involved getting legs, walk on land, take back Zac's power.

The first 13 episodes were now available to watch online. The rest of the season will come out on September.

Other Netflix shows that recently launched include "Orange Is The New Black" and "Arrested Development".

Netflix has US 630,000 subscribers added during the second quarter. This brought its total domestic subscribers to 29.81 million and international subscribers were 8 million. It earned US$1.07 billion, with earnings per share (EPS) of US$0.49.
