The singer, 26, who has dropped new music every two years since she released her self-titled debut album 10 years ago, was true to tradition when she debuted her and Zayn Malik's new song "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" on Thursday evening.

The single, which will be featured on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack, was written by Swift, Jack Antonoff (who also produced the track) and Sam Dew specifically for the film.

It's been over a couple of years since the singer, 26, released the record-shattering 1989 album in October 2014. The 1989 World Tour was announced subsequent to her fifth studio album.

Swift recently performed her biggest hits at the Formula One United States Grand Prix, and also made her return to the CMAs to present entertainer of the year to Garth Brooks. That same night, she partied with Little Big Town to celebrate their new single"Better Man" (which Swift wrote for the band) hitting No. 1 on iTunes.

In late November, Swift announced her collaboration with AT&T, promising "unique and never seen videos." According to the network, the deal is a "multi-year, multi-faceted" joint effort that would kick off with a headlining performance at the AT&T DIRECTV Super Saturday Night concert in Houston during Super Bowl weekend in February.

Earlier that month, rapper Drake fueled rumors of a collaboration with Swift.
