Graphite Capital and Hawksmoor agree on a buyout

Graphite Capital Management bought out Hawksmoor chain of steakhouses to the tune of US $62 million (GBP 40 million).

According to the company statement, both the founders of the respective companies, will continue its ties with the company. However, there are no details yet whether or not they will hold the same positions.

Graphite, owner of Groucho Club in London, also purchased Delauney and Wolseley restaurants last year, as well as Jeremy King's Rex Restaurants Associates and Chris Corbin.

In deciding to retain Goot and Beckett, Graphite senior partner Markus Golser said that they are impressed by how the executives and their team created a "popular premium restaurant concept during very difficult economic times."

"Their focus on consistently delivering high quality food and drink to a discerning customer base will underpin future growth," he added in a statement.

Graphite, is a private equity firm that manages assets amounting to GBP 475 million.
