This Sunday night the 53 year old actor made a surprising appearance at The Ace Hotel Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate the 90th birthday of his friend and renowned actor and musician, Harry Dean Stanton. The event highlights Vidiots foundation presenting Stanton the first ever Harry Dean Stanton Award.

Depp made a shocking role, sporting an all-black outfit and a rocker type character with a goatee and a combination of different necklaces, bracelets and rings, played a guitar alongside Stanton with harmonica in a version of Harry Nillson's Everybody's Talkin'. The event is also graced with the appearances and performances from John C. Reilly, Kris Kristofferson, Father John Misty, Harper Simon, Inara George and David Lynch, hosted by Ed Begley Jr.

"The Pirates of the Caribbean" actor has worked with Stanton on films like The Man Who Cried and Rango. The astonishing performance involved the Doors drummer John Densmore, Kris Kristofferson and the Mariachi group which was followed with some photos backstage with Kristofferson.

The actor has been keeping a low profile since his divorce from Heard. The Stanton Award performance has been one of Depp's first appearances after his much-talked divorce. The actor's fans though can guarantee that it won't be the last. Depp will most probable to be increasing up his public appearances as he begins to endorse his new film, Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which just debuted its first trailer. As for Heard, she has been signed to play the role of Mera, Queen of Atlantis in the upcoming Justice League movie. This is so far her first major role after their divorce.

Although the released trailer of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" stunned many because of Depp's nonappearance, fans of Jack Sparrow were thankful when they were given a sight of the fan-favorite personality in an illustration on a wanted poster. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in May 2017.
