According to Sheikh Anser Aziz, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the nights in Sector D-12's major roads were lighted up after the installation of streetlights has been finished. More so, after the completion of the residual sewerage and drainage system works, the remaining areas and streets would also have operational streetlights.

This was stated during the inspection of the progress of development work in Sector D-12. The occasion was graced by the Director Sectors Development CDA, Deputy Mayor of Islamabad Syed Zeeshan Nagyi, local elected representatives and the Senior Officers of the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) and CDA.

As per Sheikh Anser Aziz, aside from delaying the development of the sectors, the overdue and inadequate decision-making resulted in the increase of the cost of development activities on the hand which likewise increased the issues of the affected residents of Islamabad on the other.

He said that about three decades ago, Sector D-12 was opened. However, the development works in the sector could not be accomplished even as the present because of the lack of priorities and delayed decision-making.

Aziz directed the Director Sector Development to coordinate with Islamabad's Deputy Mayors in connection with the vacating of the possession from the acquired land in order to finish the development work of Sector D-12 without any other hindrance. And because the said delay has seriously affected the reputation of Authority, he further directed to ensure the availability of funds for the project. This move aims to regain the general public's trust and confidence to the capability of the Authority to serve.

In the event, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA was explained that the basic amenities of the residents including electricity, gas and water are provided in most areas of the sectors. On the other hand, minor issues are being faced in few areas of the sector but to resolve them are already being made.

Aziz also ordered the assurance of the civic provisions of all civic amenities in all areas of the sector and no negligence in this context will be tolerated. He assured that he will pay another visit in the Sector D-12 in two weeks' time for the re-evaluation of the progress of the development work.
