NORTHERN CAROLINA- The people in the community was devastated by the wrath of Hurricane Matthew.  On Monday, the residents had cleaned-up the mess brought by the tragedy. They tried to recover what was left by Matthew. However, officials in the several states alarmed the people that the fatal flood could continue as damaged rivers crest in the days to come.

The most powerful Atlantic storm since 2007, Matthew lowered to post-tropical cyclone on Sunday after its ravaged to the Caribbean killed 1,000 people in Haiti. In U.S. the toll rose to at least 22 people who died of the hurricane. Whereas, almost half of them died in North Carolina, the Associated Press stated.

Though the power in some areas was already restored, a population of 1.6 million suffered blackout in Florida, North and South Carolina and Virginia, which lowered down from 2.2 million on Sunday.

The leaders of the affected areas worked to clean and keep the streets clear from uprooted trees and neglected vehicles. Missing persons were already five as reported by the monitoring teams. The rivers were rising and in this case, Pat McCrory, the governor of North Carolina, said the death toll is expected to rise for because the flood brought a cascading effect. So far there were eight people in the state known to be dead of the tragic incident.

In addition, the governor said that there were many rivers that are swelling and were anticipated to hit the record levels and for the days to come it would not crest. Though Hurricane Matthew is out of the vicinity, it leaves a mark that is still with them and is still fatal.

A levee broke overnight and crews rescued quickly 1,500 people in Lumberton, N.C. Although the water was just in the knee level, the people went to their rooftops and waited for helicopters or boats, the governor related. The National Weather Service described the situation as a "life-threatening- flooding" which means that it would continue to blast on Monday on the eastern part of the state.

Several communities remained under water including the coastal and the inland which was caused by either overrun rivers and creeks or coastal storm surge.

In Princeville, 2,000 residents were advised to evacuate because of the flask flood risks on Sunday. It situated on the Tar River about 40 kilometers, North of Greenville. There were many dams that have breached around the Cumberland County, South of Raleigh. The fire marshal of Fayetteville, Michael Martin, informed on the phone.

Until now, the Swiftwater rescue teams remained alert and 255 have been reported as rescue calls, while 701 were rescued people so far. In South Carolina's neighboring county, a vehicle trying which tried to cross a flooded road in Florence County was swept away by flood rapids which caused the death of one person, Gov. Nikki Haley said.

A resident of Florence named Jake Williams said that on early Monday he had suffered power interruption and it has been out since Saturday. He added that trees fell down in the neighborhood and most of the road were filled with trees. With the gusting of the wind as, though he was not a weatherman as he estimated, it was near 100 miles per hour and soggy ground with a lot of trees the resident complained that he couldn't bear all the mess.

Barack Obama, U.S president, had declared a state of emergency in Georgia and Florida. A federal money was released to finance the reconstruction of the devastated infrastructure and the removal of falling debris.

Meanwhile, McCrory counted off the number of rescue workers who took risks were already 334, and saved 877 people throughout the night.

Flash flooding turned a creek into a "roaring, raging river" that swept the vehicle off the roadway on Saturday night. Water was almost up to the roof of the SUV," Downey said in a telephone interview. It was bad. They had nowhere to go." said Battalion Chief Joe Downey of the Fire Department of New York. The chief as part of the team from the three states and turned out 64 rescues on Saturday and Sunday morning.

Though Matthew had left, the Atlantic hurricane season remained a threat for it remains active because it will run till November 30.

On Monday morning that tropical storm Nicole was expected to strengthen into Tuesday said the National Hurricane Center. The storm is around 800 kilometers south of Bermuda and moving northward towards the island.
