Followers of the tech industry might notice the entertaining battle between the East and the West. In epic fashion, Apple and Samsung have been publicly displaying aggressive marketing tactics against each other. Patent wars, press releases, release races - we have all been enjoying this classic tech titan bout.

We all know, just like the saying goes, that all good things must come to an end. Too soon, though, since reports suggest that Apple and Samsung Electronics were quietly arranging a settlement that would stop this tech industry drama. The settlement could end what seems to be a decade-long patent war over mobile phone design and technology.

No concrete evidence can point to a mutual agreement. However, analysts believe that this is the most beneficial move for both companies. In the past, a similar neck on neck court battle between Proctor & Gamble and Kimberly-Clark ensued over diaper patents. The result, after years of pointing fingers, was a settlement.

If a deal should be agreed upon, financial analysts expect that it might not come in the near future. "Expect this to be a multidimensional settlement agreement, with the goal of establishing world peace, now and in the future," said patent attorney Alan Fisch.
