SIFCO Industries, Inc., leading aerospace and energy industries components supplier, announced its acquisition of MW General's operations and operating assets. The two companies came to an agreement on July 23, 2013, though specific terms of the transaction remained undisclosed.

SIFCO's most recent acquisition furthers and supports the company's goal to dominate the commercial aerospace market.

Colorado-based MW General, or DBA General Aluminum Forgings, is a commercial aerospace component supplier that primarily provides the aerospace industry precision aluminum forgings. It also supplies forging components to the medical and military industries.

SIFCO plans to operate the unit under a new name, General Aluminum Forgings, LLC (GAF) and use the trade name General Aluminum Forge for business transactions.

GAF will be a subsidiary of SIFCO's current aluminum forging unit, Quality Aluminum Forge, LLC.

"The addition of GAF meaningfully grows our aluminum forgings business and increases our aluminum product capabilities. We are very pleased to add this business to our growing forge family," said Michael S. Lipscomb, SIFCO Chief Executive Officer, about the acquisition.
