Selena Gomez turns 21, makes hit video with friends

American singer and actress, Selena Gomez, turned 21 on July 22. MTV News stated that Gomez made a video in a warehouse decorated with graffiti with her group of friends to celebrate her day.

Gomez tossed her hair around and urged her fans to "tell 'em that it's her birthday when I party like that," and to "blow your dreams away with me." The song Birthday was Gomez's second single in her album called Stars Dance.

In 2004, Gomez was discovered in a talent search done all over the US. Her album with a band she created that performed Love You Like a love Song went 4x platinum. She began acting in a show called Barney and Friends and she also played a role in Wizards of Waverly Place, Disney Channel's production. The Emmy Award-winning series on the television allowed Gomez to earn US$30,000 for every episode.

Her career helped her amass a wealth pegged at US$5.5 million. Aside from singing and acting, Gomez was also selected to be UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassador. According to producer Jason Evigan, Selena Gomez is the new J-Lo.
