A woman died yesterday after falling from the Texas Giant roller coaster at the Six Flags Over Texas in the city of Arlington, the theme park officials said in a statement. Further details regarding the accident were not disclosed in the statement.

The Texas Giant rollercoaster is the tallest steel-hybrid roller coaster in the world. Operations in the entire theme park were suspended after reports of the accident were released. "Since the safety of our guests and employees in our number one priority, the ride has been closed pending further investigation," said the statement.

The ride was designed in 1990 originally as a wooden structure. However, the 2011 renovation of Texas Giant prompted a redesign of the roller coaster, appending steel tracks to the previously all wooden railing. The ride's peak reaches 153 feet.

Six Flags have been experiencing increases and declines over the past year. Investments in the theme park said in previous reports that even if the company's market valuation is satisfactory, they are still having trouble with overvaluation indicators.

The accident might also put a dent into the Six Flags Over Texas overall performance throughout the fiscal year. Stocks of the theme park declined after news broke about the accident. As of current writing, Six Flags stocks dipped by 0.53% in the latest update.
