For $30, a new technology lets Lego fans, who have long dreamed of seeing their own faces on Lego mini figures, get their 3D faces printed and pasted on Lego refrigerator magnets or cake toppers, or more.

The dream of owning a Lego figurine with one's own face is no longer impossible as a technology available for only $30 finally allows it. NY Daily News writes that an Etsy shop called Funky 3D Faces prints custom Lego heads with actual people's faces. It's a unique gift idea made up of sandstone material and has a 5mm hole below to fit the Lego figurine neck.

What the customers need to do is to bring their own Lego figurines and ask the seller to print their faces, celebrity faces, or someone else's. The seller will finally ask two pictures (front or profile shots).

3D Print reports that the technology works by using facial recognition software, which converts 2D images to 3D prints or designs. Funky 3D Faces also capitalized on Lego cake toppers with Lego arch, Lego flowers, and Lego lanterns and hopes to sell it to Lego fanatics who are about to get married.

It's also a great gift for kids to have a mini version of their selves on the Lego world they have created. It's one creative and easy way to incorporate friends, family, and oneself to the Lego play.

Comic Book reported that the heads are not just 3D sculpts of a person's face, the shop also made sure that the skin tone goes with that of the customer to make it really look like the lifeless, fun, mini Lego figure one dreams to own.

Funky 3D Faces' website has crashed due to increased volume of activity but for those who are interested to purchase, they have to make sure to order quickly as the entire process can take two weeks before the delivery.
