After giving Paul Walker a proper send off in Fast and Furious 7, his brother, Cody Walker may take his place as a new character. Vin Diesel mentions 3 more movies are in the works and hints about the upcoming cast for 'Fast and Furious 8'

'Fast and Furious 8' is definitely happening and there has been a lot of rumors circulating the web about Brian O'Conner returning in the franchise. In the last movie, O'Conner and Torreto (Vin Diesel's character) went separate ways as the former wants to start a new life with his wife and kid.

With the departure of one main character and the deaths of Han and Gisele, it only seems natural to add a new main character and fresh face in the Fast and Furious ensemble. Acting as his brother's body double in last movie, Cody Walker is rumored to be joining the cast according to Australia News Network. The report also says Jordana Brewster may or may not return, and as for the actress' opinion, her decision is based on the fans.

Movie News Guide on the other hand reports that Vin Diesel is eyeing 70-year-old Oscar winner Helen Mirren who is known to be more than capable to handle her own action scenes as she has starred in Bruce Willis's 'Red' and 'Red 2' as retired MI6 sharpshooter Victoria.

The success of the franchise relies on excellent casting judgement because 'Fast and Furious 8' will be the first movie in the final trilogy that would end the $2.4 billion franchise. According to Master Herald, Vin Diesel was quoted saying that it is only right to give the franchise a graceful end with a trilogy.

It is also mentioned in the report that the 8th movie will be set in New York City. This is a very interesting plot line for a movie based on racing fast cars, city heists and pump action. Though the cast is still unclear, the movie is scheduled to hit the theaters on April 14, 2017.
