Ekuiti Nasional Bhd revealed plans to carry out one more regional financial commitment for its offshore supply vessel entity, Icon Offshore Bhd. The investment should come before the Icon Offshore Bhd market debut next year. The Malaysian Ekuiti Nasional is also known as Ekuinas and is a government-linked private equity firm.

Chief executive officer of Ekuiti Nasional, Datuk Abdul Rahman Ahmad, said the regional funding would make Icon Offshore an international company.

"We want to list it as a regional company. So, the plan is make one further international investment as it's a good time for oil and gas companies and demand for oil and gas stocks in Malaysia is pretty good," Rahmansaid in an interview with media.

Icon Offshore, one of Malaysia's largest offshore supply vessel  provider, has around 36 vessels operating between Malaysia, Vietnam and Qatar.

Ekuinas is also searching for investment opportunities in the Middle East for Icon Offshore's expansion, "but if we are not able, we will proceed with the listing", said the executive.
