George Zimmerman was found not guilty by  jury of six women for the murder of Trayvon Martin. This racially charged trial had America awaiting the verdict, where a white neighborhood watchman shot and killed an unarmed black teenager who was wearing a hood over his head.

According to Florida Prosecutor Angela Corey, the case was a test of the gun laws in Florida. She added, "This case was never been about race, nor has it ever been about the right to bear arms. But Trayvon Martin was profiled. There is no doubt that he was profiled to be a criminal. And if race was one of the aspects in George Zimmerman's mind, then we believe that we put out the proof necessary to show that Zimmerman did profile Trayvon Martin."

Amongs the facts disturbing about the case was Zimmerman had pursued during a gated community in Sanford, Florida and shooting the teenager dead during an altercation. Zimmerman claimed self defense, after he claimed Martin wrestled him to the ground and began bashing his head into the pavement.

Many community and business leaders have called for calm in the community, especially as protestors have started to gather to vent their ire on the public. Escalation may lead to bedlam and even property vandalism and destruction that can cost the small city of Sanford milliona of dollars in damage.
