Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 & A7 (2016) Launched, Confirmed to Feature Fingerprint Scanner, Improved Camera and More

The Galaxy A series 2016 which has been on the rumor mill for quite some time now is now finally official. Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 were recently confirmed to sport a fingerprint scanner, an improved camera and a lot more amazing features.

According to International Business Times, the Samsung Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 (2016) are expected to hit the store shelves in China in mid-December.  This series will be released world-wide later but Samsung has not revealed the price yet.

The smartphones have rounded corners when compared to its forerunners. All in all, Samsung has used a mixture of metal and glass that is similar to the flagship Galaxy S6. The devices come in three varieties of colors namely Pearl, Platinum and Sapphire.

As for the fingerprint scanner, it has been housed on the home button of the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016). As Galaxy A3 is an entry-level handset, there's no scanner on board. Moreover, the Samsung Pay basically works with both Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Filed Communication (NFC) technologies.

Apart from the aforementioned features, the Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, paired with 1080p resolution. It is engineered with an octa-core processor, while Android 5.1 Lollipop OS runs under the chassis. It is packed with a 3GB RAM and a 16 GB internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion.

The bezels around the A7 have been reduced significantly making the device look sleek. It is powered by a huge 3,300 mAh battery on board with support for rapid charging. This smartphone is armed with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, OIS support and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. Reportedly, Samsung will also be releasing a dual-SIM variant of the handset soon.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 on the other hand, sports a 5.2-inch FHD with 1920×1080 Super AMOLED display. It is engineered with  a 1.6GHz octa-core processor but comes with a 2GB RAM. The storage space is 16 GB that can be further expanded via microSD of up to 128GB. The Galaxy A5 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop under the hood. Sensors included are Accelerometer, Proximity, geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, fingerprint scanner. Housing a similar camera with A7, It is powered by a 2,900 mAh capacity battery that is capable of fast-charging.

As for the Samsung Galaxy A3, it is an entry-level handset that features a 4.7-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It has a 1.5 GHz chipset coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage. Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop, it features a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter, a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper as well as a 2,300 mAh capacity battery.

Confirmed to be in the market shelves as mid-December, Galaxy A3, A5 na A7 2016 versions would definitely make decent gifts this coming Christmas season.
