Reports have confirmed that the hit TV series Mr. Robot is renewed for another season set to premier on 2016. No details have been released yet and director Sam Esmail is keeping the storyline a secret. Meanwhile, avid fans can watch the full season 1 episodes on the show's 24-hour New Year Marathon.

According to Deadline, the writers from Mr. Robot have officially headed back to the writers room to hammer out Season 2 of the USA Network show. This was announced at USA Network's Mr. Robot cross guild event in Los Angeles. Those who attended the event included series creator-writer-director Sam Esmail, stars Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) and Rami Malek (schizophrenic hacker Elliot Alderson), music composer Mac Quayle, costume designer Kim Wilcox and editor Franklin Peterson.

Esmail was mum on the storyline for season 2. He is however open to suggestions about what season 2. In a recent post from Crossmap, Esmail stated that they will consider the suggestion in the writer's room when they convene when they asked about the possibility of ever seeing Elliot go against the drug lord Fernando Vera in Mr. Robot season 2.

Esmail also praised lead star Rami Malek, who plays Elliot Anderson on the show. Esmail described how he got Rami to become the lead star in the show, according to Mstars News.

"I'm listening to all these great actors (during the audition), and what they had wasn't working at all. Then Rami comes in and added this warmth. It changed everything. He added a vulnerability to Elliot. I wanted to hug Elliot and say, 'Don't go away and stop talking.' Rami is a big owner in this character I created."

Meanwhile, fans will be able to watch all season 1 episodes of Mr. Roboto starting December 29 at 11pm. The marathon will have a commercial-free pilot and ends with commercial free episodes for 7-10.
