Samsung officially supports Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chipset beginning November 12

Samsung officially announced its new generation flagship SoC, Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chipset, on November 12. The said chipset is the second premium application processor built on 14nm FinFET process technology, as published reports say. The smartphone company's latest chipset also integrates an advanced LTE Rel.12 Cat.12/13 modem which gives more of its features.

Droid Life mentioned that the LTE Rel.Cat. 12/13 allows a maximum speed of up to 600Mbps (Cat. 12) and upload speed of up to 150Mbps (Cat. 13). Further, the chip is capable of 30% better performance and has a 10% increase in power efficiency than the Exynos 7 Octa. The report added that Exynos 8 supports two significant things such as heterogenous multi-processing for efficient usage of all eight cores, and four custom and four ARM Cortex-A53 for high performance and power efficiency.

In another report, Indian Express noted what Dr. Kyushik Hong, Vice President of System LSI marketing, Samsung Electronics, have said, "The Exynos 8 Octa is a leading-edge application processor for next-generation mobile devices that incorporates Samsung's mobile technology leadership in CPU, ISP, and modem as well as process technology." He also added in the report that the company's latest chip will allow next level experience for mobile devices.

On the other hand, Anand Tech reported that Exynos 8890 is planned to be available for mass production in late 2015. The chipset is linked to the upcoming flagship of Samsung, Galaxy S7, which is about to be released early next year. It is also believed that the new phone will come with high technological specs and features.

To talk more about the Samsung's upcoming flagship, it is expected to land in both 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch forms. The new device will also equip fingerprint sensor incorporating home button. More so, S7 will include an iris-scanner tipped letting users to unlock their device simply by looking at it.

Samsung Electronics' Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chipset can again increase the standard of high-technological devices. The new chipset also can attract more enthusiasts once it becomes available that will arouse other competitors.
