Web hosting and server solutions provider Intergenia announced today that it has bought internet 24 GmbH, a hosting services provider based in Germany. The financial terms of the buyout were not released by either of the companies. Oakley Capital Private Equity is a major investor in Intergenia.

After this buyout, Intergenia will solidify its position among the leading providers of managed hosting internationally. Internet 24 GmbH, headquartered in Dresden, has been providing its services in most countries that speak the German language. There are currently 20,000 customers being serviced by internet 24 GmbH, including global ecommerce firms.

"We have known the internet24 team for a long time and are glad to have them on board as part of the intergenia group. The combination of intergenia's managed hosting brand PlusServer with internet24 will help our managed hosting business unit to become one of the leading providers in German-speaking countries," commented Jan-Jaap Jager, chief executive officer of Intergenia.
