Nintendo has made it official at Nintendo Direct November 12 online broacast that Super Smash Bros. 4 next DLC playable character coming to Wii U and 3DS is Final Fantasy 7 hero, Cloud Strife. The addition of this new character might be the winner of the Smash Ballot which concluded early last month.

Cloud Strife is a legendary hero from Square Enix's celebrated 1997 PlayStation RPG, Final Fantasy 7, and is now on his way to battle against popular characters such as Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man and Street Fighter's Ryu, including Nintendo's own icons like Link, Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Pikachu.

International Business Times comments that what is rather strange surrounding this latest reveal is that Final Fantasy 7 has not been on Nintendo platform before but only on PlayStation including PS4, where the game's remake is set to hit Sony's current gen console in 2017.

Fans can recall that it was at E3 2015 when Nintendo announced the Smash Ballot giving Super Smash Bros. 4 players to vote for a third party character that they wish to be included in the brawler's roster. Because of copyrights issues, not each of the top fan favorite bets will be made possible, however, it looks like Nintendo and Square Enix came to agree on common grounds to work this out to delight the gaming fans.

Other exciting highlights from Nintendo's announcement is the release of a free ink-redible Splatoon update offering more than 40 pieces of new gear, more winter items and cool bandanas. On Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. PT, another free new update will be available for the game adding a new stage called Museum d'Alfonsino.

For Pokemon hardcore fans, the Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon is launching for Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 20 at a suggested retail price of $39.99. In this new game, players can face each of the 720 known Pokémon.

The conclusion of the Nintendo Direct trailer is promising fans of the special Super Smash Bros 4 broadcast in December where some assume that more fighters coming to the game via DLC will be revealed. Stay tuned.
