The plot of  "Sherlock Holmes 3"  is still under close wraps but actor Jude Law hints a possible time travel aspect.  Rachel McAdams may reprise her role as Holmes' love interest and after confirming that he will not do "Iron Man 4", Robert Downey has agreed to go back as "Sherlock Holmes" on the big screen.

Sherlock Holmes will be back on the big screen and alongside him is his trusty mate Dr. Watson played by Jude Law. According to Crossmap, Rachel McAdams may also come back to reprise her role as Irene Adler. The interesting part about Adler's come back is a possible romantic connection that may develop between him and the highly intellectual yet a bit eccentric detective.

Another interesting revelation is what producer Lionel Wigram said in an interview stating that the 3rd installment has to be fantastic and audiences should say wow.  According to the producer, they already have a really good writer who is engaged to the task.

Speaking of the upcoming plot and script, Jude Law has some interesting ideas that may stir up the fans avidly waiting for "Sherlock Holmes 3". According to the actor playing Dr. Watson, he shared some ideas about a possible HG Wells inspired time travel aspect to the beloved Arthur Conan Doyle classic. Though this seems interesting, the British actor said in the same interview that director Guy Richie has already rejected the idea.

E-Online mentions that RDJ and the team want the third movie to be the best in the series. Perhaps this is the reason why there has been a long delay to the much awaited sequel.

The third installment in the "Sherlock Holmes" movie franchise is set to be released on 2017. If the time travel idea from Jude Law was shut down, then the whole team is really good at preventing plot leaks. For now fans are left with their rumors and speculations.
