The private equity owners of ProSiebenSat.1 has not found an investor that had shown interest in investing in the German commercial broadcaster. The said situation was reported by the newspaper Der Spiegel, who cited one of the owners.

KKR and Permira owns the German firm and is now deep in preparations to divest their interest in the media group. The plan is to undertake a placement of shares in the bourse or selling off their shareholdings to another company.

According to Goetz Mauser, the manager at Permira, was quoted by Der Spiegel as saying, "A strategic buyer is currently not in sight. I can't see a German media company at the moment that would be able to do so."

Maeuser continued that any potential purchaser would be needing to assume more than 30% stake in the firm. The compaby has a current market capitalization worth over Eur7 billion or US$8,98 billion.

No one ar KKR or Permira was immediately available to make a comment on the matter.
