Fans might want to have themselves ready, as they face a badass version of the iconic Pokemon Mewtwo in "Pokken Tournament." The recently released trailer for the arcade-style fighting game reveals not only the game's playable characters, but also the legendary Pokemon called Shadow Mewtwo that is believed to appear as a secret boss in an Extra Battle mode.

According to Digital Spy, the new form of Mewtwo was unveiled in a trailer for "Pokken Tournament," along with playable characters such as Machamp, Suicune, Lucario, Gardevoir, Weavile and Blaziken. The official name of the said Pokemon is Shadow Mewtwo, which is basically a darker version of Mewtwo.

As for the looks, Kotaku reported that many dubbed Shadow Mewtwo's appearance as somewhat similar to that of Mega Mewtwo X, only with extra bits. In fact, there are speculations that this new form could be based on the rumored combined version of "Pokemon X & Y" and "Pokemon Z." However, others suggest that this dark Mewtwo is a creation specificially for "Pokken Tournament" and that it won't reportedly bleed over into the proper "Pokemon" titles.

It is worth noting that Mewtwo is perhaps one of the most notable characters in the "Pokemon" series. Reports have it that the said Pokemon's inclusion was made in secret by both Nintendo and Bandai Namco.

Nonetheless, as reported by GameRant, Shadow Mewtwo will appear as a special boss in a final Extra Battle mode in the fighting game "Pokken Tournament." And, as expected, Mewtwo here appears to be more menacing than usual and is believed to provide difficulty to gamers who are up for it. Initially, Shadow Mewtwo would appear in-game as somewhat darker in color, but more variant than his normal appearance, only with a crystal-like object embedded on his left shoulder. However, he reportedly morphs into his Mega form, turning into a serious fighter in the game.

With the right skills and, well, luck, any gamer could somehow defeat Shadow Mewtwo in "Pokken Tournament." Wii U owners have until Spring of 2016 to prepare for the Extra Battle mode fight with the legendary Pokemon.
