Punjab looking for consultant

In accordance to a recent announcement by the Punjab government regarding industrial policy, new measures were being formalized to create land bank for the industry. The state of Punjab made a statement that it will hire a consultant to assist the state in several tasks required by the new provisions.

These tasks include identifying location strategies, attracting anchor units, and acquiring investments and financing from investment banks for land acquisition.

Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said in a statement that the Industry Department of the state appraised 5000 hectares of land that will be utilized for the creation of the industry's land bank.

"We are seeking services of a consultant and very soon a decision would be taken in this regard. We want to give professional touch, so that we can acquire the right land needed for the Industry," explained a senior executive in the Industry Department of Punjab.

"The hired consultant will assist in locating strategic locations, getting it finance from the banks and other process like assisting us in attracting big ticket investment in the state," he continued.
