Prometheus 2 officially titled as Alien: Paradise Lost is moving ahead and has caused Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 to be put in indefinite hold.  Rebecca Ferguson is rumored to be considered to join the cast while Ridley Scott says Dr. Shaw and droid David will not be alone in the sequel.

Blomkamp has been busy for the past couple of months in preparing for Alien 5. However, according to Blastr, the wait for Ellen Ripley's return will be extended indefinitely as the director officially shared the news about the film bring on hold in his Twitter account.

"alien is kinda holding/ pending prometheus 2. So I shall be working on other things... as much as I love the xeno- and Lt ripley", he stated. On October, Blomkamp posted  a photo of a riffle which was supposedly set to appear in the film. It was thought to be a sign that the movie is still a go, however, with the recent announcement, fans can draw back their attention to the upcoming Alien: Paradise Lost for the mean time.

Meanwhile, director Ridley Scott has revealed that aside from Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and android David's adventure to find the Engineer's home, the film will also include new travelers as well. As reported by Collider, Scott revealed that David and Shaw will not be alone in at least the first part.

"It's going to be it's own separate thing because they are going to the planet of the Engineers and they are going to see what happened there. It was a disaster. And they will be in that alien craft that takes them there, but with a new group that's incoming, a new group of travelers in the beginning of the first act", Scott said.

Actors for these new travellers have not been revealed yet. However, according to Cinema Blend,  Rebecca Ferguson is currently being considered for the film. No offer has been sent to the actress yet, but it is highly speculated that if Ferguson chooses to go on board, her character could be one of the new travellers.

Alien: Paradise Lost will see the return of Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender to reprise their roles as Dr. Shaw and David. It is written by Jack Paglen and Michael Green. It is currently slated to hit theaters in May 20, 2017.
