Supermassive Games recently confirmed that the Rush of Blood is a separate package and not a downloadable content for Until Dawn.

The confirmation is noted by Playstation Lifestyle saying that the Rush of Blood is a completely standalone product for Playstation 4 as validated by game developer Supermassive Games. The franchise follows one of the heroes from the Until Dawn world as they go deep into madness. That explains the familiarity of locations in the gameplay.

Speaking to VG247, Supermassive executive producer Simon Harris established that Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is a full game for PlayStation Virtual Reality, and will be released as a detached package.

Harris was quoted:

"It's not DLC, or anything like that. It's its own product for PlayStation VR; it's just set in the world of Until Dawn. It's very much set in that world and that universe, but it's a completely separate game."

Segment Next agreed what Harris said about the power of VR to fashion jump scare. Accordingly, the game publisher wanted to set up players in some ways by being aware in his environment "by making you look left and right and things like that."

The site described Until Dawn: Rush of Blood as an on-rail game. Harris said that fans should not get disheartened if they pick up on-rail games because many assume that it sounds 80's or 90's. He added that the roller coaster ride permits players to experience different pacing of the game, especially in Rush of Blood where there is a fast sections and slow ones. The pacing, particularly the slow parts, even the instants in which players cannot move, allow the players to become be familiarized with VR feel.

Supermassive Games will wait for the release of Playstation VR in 201 before they will confirm the scheduled date for Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.
