China probes Tetra Pak, the world renowned Switzerland-based food-packaging company for any possible abuse when it comes to market dominance.

Xinhua News Agency cited the State Administration for Industry & Commerce that the market watchdog has organized 20 of its regional agencies to investigate any allegations made to Tetra Pak and other companies.

The investigation made to Tetra Pak is part of the increased security operations of overseas companies in China. Infant formula makers, Danone and Nestle cut some prices after a report from the People's Daily last July 2 that the Chinese government started probes for possible fixing of prices.

The commission is currently examining prices and costs of products for pharmaceutical companies Novartis AG, Merck & Co., GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK) and Baxter International Inc. (BAX) for improvement of pricing systems for drugs and medicines distributed in China.

Tetra Pak has headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland and in Lund, Sweden and  with factories  located in Kunshan, Foshan, Beijing, and Hohhot.
