Syngenta announced its plans to acquire MRI Seed Zambia Ltd and MRI Agro Ltd, the leading producer, developer and distributor of white corn seed in Zambia. Syngenta has taken great interest in the white corn market due to the high growth potential that it has. The raising of crop is critical for Africa's food security.

Smallholders and larger farmers in Zambia will quickly benefit from the combined innovation of MRI and Syngenta in seeds, seed care and crop protection.
