Lori Spoon Rafkin was named senior vice president of Customer and Broker Engagement of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. Rafkin's most recent work was at Zurich Insurance, where she held the title of Broker Relationship Leader of North America.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance President Peter Eastwood said that the partnership of customers and brokers is a crucial and critical bond that provides solutions for the needs of the current market.

He commented on the hiring of Rafkin, "Lori has a proven record of engaging customers and business partners in lasting, mutually beneficial relationships and translating sound business strategies into results."

"With her extensive experience and understanding of both complex customer accounts and distribution management, she is a powerful addition to our team," he added.

Rafkin's extensive resume includes her work as executive vice president and administrative chief of CIT Group, chief of staff of Marsh's New York operations, and industry practice leader of Marsh's global services group.

Rafkin graduated at DePauw University.
