Ares Management announced today that it has named Jeffrey Kramer as its new portfolio manager in its Capital Markets Group firm. With his new position, Kramer is expected to deal with the creation and management of future investments under his strategy which involves asset backed investing.

His most recent company was Goldman Sach's Special Situations Group.

Commenting on the new hire, global head of the Capital Markets Group division of Ares Management Greg Margiolies said, "He brings a wealth of knowledge and asset investing experience that is complementary to our existing structured products platform and further enables us to identify attractive opportunities for our investors."

Kramer said that he is exited to work with a well-respected company. He noted the rarity of businesses in the industry which realize the objectives of long term investments.

"I am also excited to be able to work with companies and sponsors who rely on Ares to access other types of capital as they grow their businesses," he continued.

Kramer's previous work include directorship of Global Financial Markets, Securitization Group and Structured Credit Head of WestLB AG.
