Madison Dearborn Partners Announced Acquisition of National Financial Partners Corp

Madison Dearborn Partners announced today that they finally acquired National Financial Partners Corp (NFP). NFP is a provider for benefits, wealth management and insurance while Madison Dearborn Partners is a private equity investment firm. The coverage of Madison Dearborn's investment range from basic industries to consumer health care to government and business services. Notable investments under the Madison Dearborn belt would be PayPal, TransUnion and Capital Source, just to name a few.

NFP stockholders approved of the transaction via a special meeting that was conducted last June 19. Due to the change in ownership, the NFP common stock will not be listed or traded on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange).

NFP stockholder will receive cash payments for each share that they have with the company in line with the transactions set up which will amount to an equity value of $1.3 billion, this amount includes the full value of the convertible debt of NFP. Each share is estimated to be at $25.35.
