The "Assassin's Creed" movie has officially started filming in Malta, the Malta Film Commission has recently confirmed. It was also revealed that Michael Fassbender will take a role in the upcoming movie.

Based on Ubisoft's widely popular video game series, Fassbender will portray as Callum Lynch which was not featured in the games yet. In an article on The Guardian, he will debut in a hooded, lightly armoured garb with his weapons beneath his sleeves. It was reported that he will also be a producer which will make the film a bit more intriguing.

Callum Lynch, according to the Comic Book, is the heir of the mysterious secret society of the Assassins. By unravelling his genetic ability, he must take over the skills of his ancestors so he can take down the forceful Templar orga.

Latin Post reported that the storyline will pursue the story in the video games. It will follow the story of a descendant of the Assassins, Desmond Miles. Desmond died on the third game but, his memories existed in cyberspace. In there, other descendants of the Assassins are granted to have access with it.

In other reports, Marion Cotillard will join Fassbender in the upcoming film.  So with all due hopes, fans are anticipating more of the movie. An Australian director, Justin Kurzel, is tasked to direct alongside Bill Collage (Exodus: Gods and Kings) and Adam Cooper and Michael Lesslie (Macbeth).

With the presence of the supporting cast with Michael K Williams (Boardwalk Empire) as the key player, the movie may look interesting this time. As the team started the shooting in Valetta (capital of Malta), the set was likely have an AC2 era style. Sources say that a hot taken with Fassbender's stuntman was synchronizing halfway up a building wearing a newly designed suit.

Now, the high-hopes are being elevated from all the movie adaptations of the video game. "Assassin's Creed is scheduled for a release on December 21, 2016.
