Samsung, China unveils its brand new  dual-display flip smartphone that is the SM-G9198, which is supposed to follow the Galaxy Folder that was announced earlier in Korea. The device is said to be packed with features that are awesome enough for a clamshell designed smartphone, especially that people nowadays are stuck with their smartphones with pretty much the same form factor.

The Samsung SM-G9198 flip phone measures 120.3 x 61.2 x 16.3mm and weighs 204 grams. It sports two Super AMOLED displays with full touch capabilities. Both measure 3.9 inches with a WXGA resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. Both the screens are located on both sides of the top half of the handset, perfect for viewing photos and videos.

Under the hood, the Samsung SM-G9198 runs on a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC processorclocked at 1.8GHz. This is paired with an Adreno 408 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and has a built-in 16GB storage. As for expandable storage, the SM-G9198 can support up to 128GB via microSD card.

Furthermore, additional features include dual-SIM options, LTE connectivity, heart-rate sensor, and a 2,020mAh battery that can last up to 189hrs in standby mode. The clamshell phone also has a 16MP rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture, as well as a 6MP front camera, which is a higher resolution compared even to Samsung's flagship smartphones.

While many see the Samsung SM-G9198 as a beefy clamshell smartphone, it will only become available exclusively in China. There are also no hints yet about its market price. Then again, for a phone with such power, it is expected to come at a reasonable price.

In the meantime, Samsung will continue further in developing its other devices and software. Whether or not they will also make the flip phone available outside China, only the Korean-based company could tell.
