Fans have to wait a little longer for 'House of Cards' season 4. But the upcoming season is probably worth to wait, as it is expected to be darker and wicked than the previous seasons. As the filming still ongoing, series writer Beau Willimon has shared something about the show's development and his gratitude towards both actors Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.

According to Gospel Herald, the 'House of Cards' season 3 saw the return of Frank Underwood's closest ally Doug Stamper, after surviving a near-death experience. Viewers then witnessed Stamper's painful recovery from brain damage before rejoining Frank at the White House.

Recent reports revealed that Doug and Frank will team up once again. It is said that Frank is more efficient with Doug by his side. And their partnership can be pretty exciting, which is just right for the 'wickedness' of season 4.

While this can be pretty exciting for actor Michael Kelly, his character's life span is still questionable. The actor himself isn't sure if Doug will survive next season or not.

"It's House of Cards, right? They do not hesitate to kill great characters," Kelly said to the Inquistr.

It can also be noted that the show is not too afraid to kill off awesome characters. Viewers can already attest to it, like what happened to the politician Peter Russo and investigative reporter Zoe Barnes. Basically, no one is safe.

Meanwhile, series writer Beau Willimon has said to BBC that he is not fond of giving spoilers for the upcoming season.

While the crew is currently shooting in Baltimore, Maryland, Willimon did share that both Spacey and Wright are involved in the writing process for their characters. Writer said that they are both assets of the show, as the two have a lot of inputs about their characters for quite a while already.

"Sometimes the work happens on the day. We'll be rehearsing and I'll see or hear something that leads to a new idea, or they'll say 'Maybe we don't need these lines - maybe we can act these as opposed to saying them.' We're not precious about anything," Willimon explained.

The new and fresh episodes of 'House of Cards' season 4 are expected to be released by Netflix in 2016.
