Hitman: Agent 47 is poised to give us one helluva adrenaline ride. The upcoming action thriller film directed by Aleksander Bach and written by Michael Finch, is said to hit the big screen right out from the video game from whence it camem in just a few weeks from now. Its just released trailer is stoking the excitement with all the high-flying car chases and gun battles. Best of all, a damsel in distress?

Right from the get-go,  the focus is set on the Agent program that created the numbered killing machine - just like James Bond - dubbed Agent 47. The prospect of a genetically engineered , stronger, faster, smarter and better human has been a dish served many times before. It's creepy true but it sure reminds us of  RoboCop or of Van Damme's Universal Soldiers.

In this action packed flick, Hitman: Agent 47 targets a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of the agent's past.  The company's agenda is nothing short of diabolical: to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even that of Agent 47.

And the super-killer is featured protecting a young woman (Hannah Ware) whose DNA may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies. It seems like 47 is truly in the bind and is into knight-in-shining-armor mode.

He has to confront his own demons, stunning revelations about his origins. As things turn out, the most capable killing machine squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.  The prospect should hammer us to our seats for hours on end.

It's all in the genes, bro. And this genetically-engineered assassin Agent 47 should be the best ambassador of the notion.

Premiered on IGN, the trailer doesn't just showcase some of the eye-popping stunts on show in Aleksander Bach's action thriller, it also fills is in some key features on Rupert Friend's genetically engineered assassin story. One leading to his true origins.

To note, the lead role of the barcoded agent 47 was initially offered to the late Paul Walker. Losing the great Furious 7 actor, 'Homeland' actor Rupert Friend had to be placed in the picture.

Premier is set on August 21,2015. That date that should have us glued  to our movie seats as we watch the action-packed movie most every video fanboy is rooting for, Hitman: Agent 47
