Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch seems to be very excited about being a father, and has been preparing for the arrival of his and wife Sophie Hunter's little one.

The soon to be new parents, Cumberbatch and Hunter has been nestling, preparing for the birth of their first child. The actor reportedly said he'd take a couple of months to prepare for the baby with his wife. The actor admitted that he has been very busy and thus he's giving the 'nestling' period with his wife a big chunk of his time.

The actor also shared that he has been preparing for fatherhood ever since he was young. "When I was growing up, I had a weird obsession with 32 being the mark of adulthood and [having a baby] was part of what I thought that might mean, naively," he said.  "It was just a hunch about a number. I was always a bit of an old soul. I wasn't really interested in being young. I mean, I wasn't eccentric. But I'm glad it didn't happen. Things happen for a reason. And I'm definitely with the right person for that." He added.

Cumberbatch and Hunter reportedly wants to live with his wife in London and raise their family there. "My friends are here, my family are here, Sophie is here; it doesn't make sense to uproot my whole life, I can travel for work, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else full-time." the actor said.

But its not just fatherhood that he is currently preparing for, he also has to work with getting his lean body buffed up for his upcoming role as a Marvel superhero. Cumberbatch is to play Doctor Strange, the selfish doctor turned into a hero as he fights to protect the earth from magical and mystical enemies. Buffing up, apparently, isn't new to Cumberbatch as he had already done that for his role Khan in Star Trek: Into the Darkness.

"I did a lot of training and I did a lot of eating," he said. "By the end I could do handstand press-ups, feet up against the wall, lowering my head to the floor and pushing up. 'It didn't last long, but I could definitely do that for a week or two." The actor said discussing about his routine in getting himself buffed up.

Doctor Strange is set to be released on November 2016.
