Rebel Wilson has a secret she's been hiding from the world. Actually, multiple secrets. It turns out that the Pitch Perfect 2 star has been lying about her age, her name and her upbringing! The latest update in this bizarre story confirms it- Wilson (if that is her real name) has officially been fibbing about her real self, even as she's fielded rumors and dodged the question on social media.

Recently, an Australian tabloid started snooping around in Wilson's backgrond and found out the truth. While the actress has previously alleged that Rebel Wilson is her real name, her birth name is actually Melanie Elizabeth Bownds. As well, Wilson (or Bownds) previously claimed her birthday was in 1986. Also not true- her real birthday is in 1980!

Finally, Wilson has spoken about her past before, and that her family comes from a long line of dog breeders. This is, technically, still true. But Wilson formerly said her family was never rich, and it turns out that they have quite a bit of money (although is that really that surprising? When was the last time anyone heard of a destitute purebred dog breeder).

When confronted about the insane rumors before, Wilson responded with a couple of sarcastic tweets, first saying "OMG I'm actually a 100 year old mermaid formerly known as "CC Chalice" ....thanks shady Australian press for your tall poppy syndrome x" and following up with "Okay but all jokes aside now...my real name is Fat Patricia x." Other than that, she hasn't commented much on the allegations she's been faking her age- although she might have to, now that the truth's come out.

Will this controversy actually affect Wilson's acting career? Probably not. She's a scene-stealer in Pitch Perfect 2, and she'll continue to be a scene stealer whether she's 29 or 35 years old.
