The past few weeks have been a treasure trove of updates for next year's Marvel Studios superhero film, "Captain America: Civil War." It's official sypnosis has been released, and production has already begun for the superhero blockbuster which is scheduled to be released on May 6 next year.

The official Captain America: Civil War sypnosis was released a week-and-a-half ago by Marvel Studios, and reads as:

"'Captain America: Civil War' picks up where 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain."

Many of the franchise's fans were very excited to hear the release of the sypnosis, especially on how Marvel Studios used the events of the latest Avengers film to create the tension that would lead up to "Civil War." Obviously, there are distinct differences between the comic book and the upcoming film storylines, but the core concepts are still the same - the government passes a law that would affect the superhero community, dividing the Avengers into two groups: one led by Iron Man who is for the law, and the other led by Captain America who is against it.

The conflict between the two powerhouses of the Avengers is no secret, given that they have not seen eye to eye since the first Avengers film. However, it was not until they met each other again in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" that real distrust started to brood. Remember that scene in the movie when Wanda (a.k.a. Scarlet Witch) read Cap's mind about trusting Tony?

What followed was a fight between Steve (with Wanda and Pietro) and Tony (with Bruce and Clint) on whether they should activate Vision. And while things seemed to mellow down at the end of the film between the two, the differences in their mindsets will obviously lead them into opposite paths that would cause them to go against each other in "Civil War."

Or how about the one where both Steve and Tony were cutting wood, and they argued on why they fought? Steve ended their conversation with the words "Whenever someone tries to end the war before it starts, people die. Always."

When both characters were introduced into the MCU, Steve was the type of person who would obey orders and trust the decisions of the higher ups, while Tony was the kind of guy who broke the rules and went his own way. However, after the events of "Captain America: Winter Soldier" and "Iron Man 3," as well as "Age of Ultron," their ways of thinking may have completely gone the opposite direction, which would further influence where they would side in the upcoming film.

Production for "Captain America: Civil War' is currently underway. Filming locations include Atlanta, Germany, Puerto Rico, and Iceland.
