Hearing that the Dead Island 2 release date delayed to 2016 is disappointing news to fans who love the zombie horror video game. After the initial plan to launch the game this 2015, certain plans caused it to be pushed for a year.

According to a report on ScienceFiction, the game publisher, Deep Silver, posted on Twitter the reason for having to delay. They had big goals for the sequel and it just needed more time. They intended to take what fans loved about the original game in order and further enhance gameplay with co-op, various playable characters, and the realistic feeling of a zombie setting amidst what is supposed to be a paradise. The publisher also mentioned that a lot more content is being planned on top of all the other features.

Deep Silver wanted to appease the sadness of gamers who thought the game would soon be released by saying, "by giving Dead Island 2 more time, we are confident that everyone will get a better game to play as a result."

There are still a lot of things to learn about Dead Island 2 in terms of its gameplay. Last August, a trailer has been released, but not much has followed as development has been the team's focus.

Consequently, gamers are probably getting used to the feeling of hearing games being bumped off for another year or even two. Both the new "Legend of Zelda" as well as "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" were both set to be released in 2015. However, with similar reasons to really make the games as good as they can be, more time had to be dedicated.

While it is indeed true that the Dead Island 2 release date delayed to 2016, the good news is that there are better chances for the game to be more exciting and of super quality when it comes out. Players should check in for more info to arrive on the Xbox One, PC, and PS4 title.
