Android remains one of the most customizable and flexible mobile operating systems today. While some users think they are better off not rooting their phones, there are also several reasons why they should.

1.      Unlock hidden features and install incompatible applications

-Rooting can help users install carrier-blocked applications, make incompatible applications work, power up your hardware, get features like Beats Audio from other phones, or copy exclusive features that are usually only available on other phones.

2.      Boost the phone's speed and battery life

-With or without rooting, users can boost their phone's speed and battery life. The only difference is that when they root, they have even more power to work with. People can also to install customized kernels (software that allows the OS to talk to the hardware) that are optimized in a different way. Applications like SetCPU can speed up and enhance the performance of the system. Some applications can also enhance battery life. People can use an application like Greenify to hibernate apps that are not currently in use.

3.      Extreme customization

-Although Android is the most customizable operating system out there, rooting the phone guarantees more opportunities. People can tailor their handset according to their preference. If the user does not want their interface to look like Android, they can download custom ROMs. Users can even control their Android device without touching it by installing GMD Gesture Control. Other things users can do include adding widgets to the notification bar and changing the lock screen.

4.      The latest OS updates

-Android users have always complained about being behind on the most recent updates. Android's developer company is often able to get new operating system updates on a phone months before the carrier releases the update. Once the device is rooted, people can install updates manually through third-party ROMs.
